Amesbury joins Mediaedge:cia EMEA
7 July 2008 - MEC has appointed Julia Amesbury to the position of Regional Director, Communications Planning, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
Amesbury joins from South African communications planning agency Nota Bene, an MEC group company, where she was chief strategic officer. At MEC, Amesbury will work closely with the European communications planning teams to ensure insight and ideas are at the core of strategy work for clients across the EMEA region. In her role, Amesbury will ensure the agency's specialist services are integrated to provide one solution for clients.
Amesbury becomes one of the agency's leading communication planners bringing a great depth and breadth of experience having worked for several creative agencies both in strategic planning and account management as well as for brand marketing consultancies. She will report to Jeff Hyams, Chief Strategic Officer, EMEA.
During her time at the Cape Town based agency which she joined in 2006, Nota Bene won a record six back-to-back Agency of the Year awards. She joined MEC from JWT Singapore in 2000 where she led the team that set up the communications planning practice for MEC Asia Pacific, based in Singapore.
